Natural Relief under the Plague Pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic in the United States is a part of the worldwide pandemic. More than 41.7 million confirmed cases have been reported since January of 2020. As of September 2021, one in every 500 Americans died of COVID-19. More than a third of the total population has had infections that have gone undetected and untreated. COVID-19 was the third leading cause of death in the US in 2020, behind heart disease and cancer.

Since we have been told that we have to face COVID-19 for long-term fighting, it’s my job to find some natural remedy for my patients during the pandemic because nobody knows what’s going to happen during this long journey. One Chinese doctor’s experience caught my eye; this is his story.

He lives in Nanyang, China, and he came back from Wuhan on January 16th, 2020. On the second day home, he started experiencing the symptoms: tiredness, 101°F fever, coughing, and some shortness of breath. He tried all kinds of medicine, including antivirus treatment, antibiotics, and medication to try to bring his fever down. He had some relief, but on the whole, there was no dramatic change. The symptoms continued until the night of the eighth day, when it suddenly worsened. The fevers went up, the cough became severe, and he could see blood in his sputum. His breath became more labored, with a lot of chest pain. His blood oxygen dropped. But the hospital was too full to let him in at that time, meaning that he may have to wait to die.

In crisis, he remembered what his teacher said: Garlic can treat plaque! Immediately, he found four heads of garlic, beat them to a flat shape, and then made them into a tea. He drank two cups of garlic tea and put himself to bed. The next day, the fever was lower, the cough was better, and there was no blood in his sputum anymore. Even the chest pain had lessened. He continued drinking the garlic tea and gave it to his family as well. He survived, and he saved himself.

Here is how to make the tea:

  1. Get 4 heads of garlic (the whole ball, not four pieces).
  2. Press them into a flat shape.
  3. Chop them into small pieces and put them into a pot.
  4. Add 6 cups of cold water, bring to boil. Watch the pot. DO NOT boil the garlic for longer than 2 minutes. This is the way of protecting the effective component.
  5. Turn the oven off and pour the garlic tea through a filter. Keep the tea and discard the garlic.
  6. Drink 1 cup of warm tea, two times per day, and bed rest. Use for three days if you believe that you may have COVID-19.

Note: It is better and more effective to drink garlic tea without any additives, but if you feel the need to sweeten with a small amount of honey or sugar, that is okay.

This self treatment is to ensure that your illness does not turn into a severe case and may help you to recover faster. You still have to contact your primary care physician for a COVID-19 test and treatment.
